Fowler-Clark-Epstein Farm House is rebuilt.
1786
Built by Revolutionary War veteran Samuel Fowler, it is located at 487 Norfolk Street. The oldest house in today’s Mattapan, it sits on a farm passed down to Fowler’s sons. The house and 11 acres are purchased in 1837 by Henry Clark, who builds a barn on the property in 1860. The house and land are purchased by antique dealer Jorge Epstein in 1941, by Historic Boston, Inc. in 2015, converted to an urban agricultural center in 2018, and purchased by the Urban Farming Institute in 2024.
